I’ve noticed quite a bit that when a person is promoted they change. Not just to fit their new job but their personality as well. In other words they become an intolerable douche. I can’t stand that. Especially when you’ve worked with the person for a while and when they get promoted you can’t even stand being around them.
If I got the several promotions that I didn’t I was going to get my first tattoo. I wanted something to remind me that I could still be the same person but have the responsibility of a supervisor. I was going to get these lyrics by Macklemore, “Make the money, don’t let the money make you Change the game, don’t let the game change you.” It’s from the song Make The Money. I think those lyrics are beautiful.
A lot of people here at my job need to be reminded they were once low level employees too. It reminds me of an Archer moment when Carol scream, “You’re not my supervisor!” If I find it later I’ll attach it to this post. If I remember to. (Someone remind me if I don’t! It’s hilarious!)
